I haven't forgotten about this blog, I promise. But with getting sick last weekend and working on report cards for school, my time has been limited the past couple of weeks. I guess it's that time of year! Anyway, although I did manage to catch quite the cold, it was short lived. I had two and a half really horrible days (congestion, fever, and fatigue). But that went away as quickly as it came, thank goodness. I'm still coughing up all the left over gunk that's in my chest, but other than that, I'm fine. Part of what made me start to feel better so quickly was this broth that I made. It was really soothing to my sore throat, and helped to clear up a lot of my sinus congestion. It's actually become my hot drink of choice, sick or not sick. Click the read more link or the title of this post to see how easy it is to make. |

But sometimes, unfortunately, it’s a real challenge to try to carve out time in those busy schedules for something as important and basic as self-care. That’s why I love the crock pot so much! It’s this genious little slow-cooker that allows busy teachers like me to come home after a long day at work and still manage to eat a satisfying, and healthy meal like this Slow Cooker Chicken with Fall Vegetables.

I started this blog after deciding to give up on fad diets, listening to “experts,” counting calories,
measuring, logging, depriving, bingeing, and feeling guilty. All of that only served to make me
bigger, unhealthier, and unhappy. I finally decided to keep it simple: listen to my
own body and eat real food. I
started cooking with ingredients as close to nature as possible and one year later I
feel healthier and happier. I love food and I love cooking it. This blog is an ongoing collection of my new
and favorite recipes. Some, I’ve made
up, but most are inspired by what I see online. Feel free to browse, follow, and leave a
comment! Thanks for reading! Follow Me on Pinterest!
