I have to admit, normally when I pack my lunches for work, I throw in some leftovers from the night before. But every once in a while I put in some effort and get a little creative with it. I actually prefer lunches made up of lots of little snacks, rather than one big meal. Today I decided to go the little snack route. I used hard-boiled eggs, broccoli, grapes, hummus on celery with raisins, apple slices, smoked salmon, walnuts, cheese, and carrots. And then I threw in a black bean brownie for dessert! (By the way, a recipe for black bean brownies will be posted soon. They are super yummy!) Anyway, it was a fun-filled lunch bag today, and kept me full all day. Check out the pic below. |

This is a great breakfast because it's got sweetness from the fresh fruit, protein from the yogurt, and healthy fats from the walnuts. Although it's really light-tasting, it will keep me full until lunch. Best of all, the whole thing took about 3 minutes to assemble. Great for a busy morning!
Enjoy!
I've been loving my switch to real food for so many reasons. But as Halloween began to roll around, I gave myself permission to forgo my real, whole, natural food for the sake of indulging in.....well....junk. After all, Halloween only comes around once a year, right? And it's tradition so....I told myself, "All bets are off."

I started this blog after deciding to give up on fad diets, listening to “experts,” counting calories,
measuring, logging, depriving, bingeing, and feeling guilty. All of that only served to make me
bigger, unhealthier, and unhappy. I finally decided to keep it simple: listen to my
own body and eat real food. I
started cooking with ingredients as close to nature as possible and one year later I
feel healthier and happier. I love food and I love cooking it. This blog is an ongoing collection of my new
and favorite recipes. Some, I’ve made
up, but most are inspired by what I see online. Feel free to browse, follow, and leave a
comment! Thanks for reading! Follow Me on Pinterest!
