This post is a continuation of the last one. My last post was all about how my family cans their homemade tomato sauce on a very large scale (about 100 jars and more!). However, this post is for anyone who wants to make only a few jars of tomato sauce at a time, and does not have the luxury of using an electric tomato grinder like my parents have. For this smaller scale method you can use a regular size pot and there is no need for a tomato grinder at all. Click the title of this post or the "read more" link below to find out how. |

So I was thrilled to see this super easy recipe for homemade tortillas that only use 4 ingredients: Whole wheat flour (I use organic), avocado oil, salt, and water. That's more like it. You can find the original recipe HERE. Not only is this recipe made with a small number of simple ingredients, but all up, it only takes about 45 minutes to make a batch of 12 of them. (That includes time to make the dough, let it sit, roll it out, and cook each tortilla). Not much of a time commitment if you ask me. And they are much cheaper in the end because even though you might have to spend a fair bit on organic whole wheat flour and avocado oil, each will go a long way. I've already made 4 different batches of this recipe and I'm still on the same bag of flour, and bottle of oil.

I started this blog after deciding to give up on fad diets, listening to “experts,” counting calories,
measuring, logging, depriving, bingeing, and feeling guilty. All of that only served to make me
bigger, unhealthier, and unhappy. I finally decided to keep it simple: listen to my
own body and eat real food. I
started cooking with ingredients as close to nature as possible and one year later I
feel healthier and happier. I love food and I love cooking it. This blog is an ongoing collection of my new
and favorite recipes. Some, I’ve made
up, but most are inspired by what I see online. Feel free to browse, follow, and leave a
comment! Thanks for reading! Follow Me on Pinterest!
