A few posts back I wrote about making maple-glazed pecans and caramelized bananas. (See that post HERE) Judging from the number of re-pins on that post, and the views on my blog that day, I'd say that was a pretty popular recipe. A few days later I posted about making 2 different batches of banana muffins, which also got a lot of views. (See that post HERE) It seems that readers are loving the banana recipes, so I decided to do another one. This one combines bananas, all-natural peanut butter, cocoa powder and maple syrup for a healthy, sweet treat. Click the title of this post or the "read more" link to see how it all comes together. |
You could modify this one as well by using your own favourite peanut butter (not everyone is a fan of the all-natural stuff, I know). You can also use melted chocolate chips, or baker's chocolate for the sauce. Or, if you want to stick with the cocoa powder, but don't want the maple syrup, you can try honey instead. You could really just do what you want to make these tasty treats.
You can see what I did below. But I should first mention that these treats need to be frozen first. When you're ready to eat them, let them thaw a little in the fridge. You could eat them straight out of the freezer, but be prepared for brain freeze!
