I'd been seeing a ton of pins on Pinterest about peanut butter and Greek yogurt fruit dip, and had been meaning to try it. I love Greek yogurt, I love peanut butter, and I really love honey. So I figured this dip would taste amazing, and it's true. It really does. I followed the recipe I found HERE. What I like about it is that you can vary the amounts of each ingredient depending on how thick/creamy/sweet/tangy you want it.
To be honest, I haven't been using it as a fruit dip. It actually makes a pretty tasty and filling breakfast. The Greek yogurt and natural peanut butter are both packed with filling protein, and healthy fats. The raw honey provides some natural sweetness, and honey has a bunch of other nutritional benefits.
I figured this would go really well with sliced bananas. I mean, who doesn't love the combination of peanut butter and bananas? But just before I was about to slice the bananas into the dish, I thought about freezing them first.
I'm really glad I did.
Once the bananas were frozen, I pureed them in a magic bullet with the Greek yogurt/peanut butter/honey dip. The result was a smooth, creamy, cool, dessert. It's the perfect alternative to ice cream, and the consistency is pretty much identical to it. I don't really have any desire to eliminate ice cream from my diet, but with this concoction, that just might happen.
Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!
