Chocolate sauce makes everything better. Agreed? The problem is, most of the stuff you can get in the stores are loaded with added refined sugars, preservatives and artificial colourings or flavours. Enter this awesome 2-ingredient chocolate sauce that I came across on 100 Days of Real Food. Keep reading to find out more. |
I had fun (lots of fun) playing around with the recipe to get different consistencies. There are only 2 ingredients: 100% pure maple syrup, and organic cocoa powder. If you want a more runny sauce-like mixture, you can simply add more maple syrup. This will be perfect for drizzling over fresh fruit, pancakes, etc.
However, you can also add in more of the cocoa powder to make a thicker, more icing-like consistency. This is perfect for topping cupcakes and muffins, I've discovered. It's a great little recipe. I love the fact that I can have my chocolate fix without a bunch of unnecessary, unhealthy ingredients! Thanks 100 Days of Real Food!
