Peaches are in full season right now. I've been loving heading to the farmer's market to get fresh local peaches every Saturday. Mostly, I just love to eat them fresh. I'm one of those crazy people who can't bite into a peach though...I need to cut it with a knife. I'm not sure why. But eating peaches fresh isn't the only way I like to enjoy them. Frozen peach slices are great to add to smoothies or homemade frozen yogurt. They also work great in pies or cobblers. I've always been a fan of peach jam, but I don't really want all the added sugar or preservatives. So I decided to try my hand at making my own peach butter. Nah forget it. I'm sticking with Peach Butter.
It didn't take me long to get through this stuff. I only made one jar since it was my first time trying it out. I wasn't sure if it was going to turn out so I didn't want to make too much. But now that I know how much I like it, I'm gonna make a much bigger batch next time and put in jars for the winter.
I used this stuff for everything, which is why it didn't last very long. I spread it over toast, added it to my yogurt, topped muffins with it, and even added it to a roast chicken wrap. It's a pretty versatile condiment, and it's got nothing in it except for peaches and spices!
